Moments of My Life...

It seems like yesterday I was teaching my daughter to speak and walk, ride her bike or make her bed. Now my job as a mother has transgressed into less physical teachings but more mental. This transformation has occurred just suddenly. Right before my eyes my little girl has turned into a young lady. I noticed it this summer while at the beach. No more digging in the sand looking for sand fleas or building sand castles. Now she walks up and down the beach just talking with her friends or wading in the water for hours (literally). Now she has to have her own chair and she sun bathes! While I sit with hat, sunglasses AND an umbrella! She is also catching the eye of boys who do double takes when she walks by. It makes me giggle, but want to cry at the same time. It was at that moment that I realized that it's time to let go just a little bit and become less "manager" in her life and more "consultant."
